After years of delays, the dune film 2020 forged is finally beginning to take shape. And Jason Momoa, shorn of his trademark beard, plays Duncan Idaho, the Atreides’ grasp of swords.
The film’s rivals are led by Stellan Skarsgard as Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, the ruthless leader of his family’s rival home. He’s so overweight that he requires anti-gravity gadgets to help himself and is thought for his blatant greed and cruel therapy of the Fremen. Dave Bautista joins the solid as Glossu Rabban, the Baron’s monstrous nephew and henchman. Sharon Duncan-Brewster rounds out the main solid as Liet Kynes, the lead planetologist of Arrakis who has pure talents akin to these of the Bene Gesserit. kseries was played by Sean Young in the 1984 film however Villeneuve desires to discover the role with a female lead, adding that he's “very feminist, very pro-women.”
Lea Seydoux, who won awards for Cannes movies One Fine Morning and Crimes of the Future, stars as Princess Margot Fenring, Paul’s sister and member of the Bene Gesserit order. The sisters are skilled warriors who serve the Emperor as truthsayers and spies for their order. Sian Phillips played the Reverend Mother Gaius Helen Mohiam within the 1984 movie however Charlotte Rampling replaces her in the 2021 adaptation.

The actress is a perfect fit for the function, saying that Villeneuve had told her “he wanted to write this part for a girl because he thinks there aren’t enough robust female roles on the market.”
